City of Warren Officials, Police, and Administrators to address high school and middle school students on how to handle active shooter situations.
Warren Mayor Jim Fouts, Chief Assistant City Attorney Mary Michaels, Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer and Warren Fire Commissioner Skip McAdams will address Lincoln High and Middle School students on active school shooters Friday, April 20 at 9 a.m. in the Van Dyke Community Auditorium off Federal Avenue located at Lincoln High School.
“This is part of the police-school partnership to prevent school shootings,” said Fouts. It is the next step we are taking after our initial meeting with school leaders.”
Mayor Fouts and City of Warren Police met with 51 school leaders on Thursday, March 1 to discuss school shooter strategies.
Special Note: The Superintendent of Van Dyke Public Schools, Piper Bognar, has organized a panel discussion on school violence at 10 a.m. on April 20 in the CTE building which is located in the Lincoln High School parking lot to the east of the High School. Participants include community leaders, school personnel, legislators, law enforcement officials, and student leaders.
