Commissioner Dwyer and Mayor Fouts are committed to keeping our places of worship safe.
Warren Mayor James Fouts and Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer are deeply concerned with the mass shooting that occurred on November 5, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. To help ensure that an incident of this magnitude does not happen in the City of Warren, the Mayor and the Police Commissioner are committed to assisting all of Warren’s churches and faith-based organizations so that they will be better prepared in the event that they are involved with the terror of an active shooter.
The Warren Police Department will host an informational meeting on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 1 :00 p.m. at City Hall in the first-floor conference room. Officers will disseminate information regarding active shooter response and other emergencies that may face your church, its employees, and staff members. Officers will also provide a questionnaire to interested organizations so a tailored response plan, specific to your location, can be created.
